COVERGIRL does it again! Janelle Monáe announced as the newest face of COVERGIRL. The latest two additions to the COVERGIRL roster, P!NK and Janelle, don’t come as a surprise as the world’s idea of beauty greatly expands to include a gamut of personalities. With Janelle as their new face, millions of other girls will be able to flip the pages of VOGUE and find a woman they relate to.
Monáe’s debut album The ArchAndroid earned her multiple Grammy nominations. The Associated Press, The Guardian, The Chicago Tribune, and the LA Times christened The ArchAndroid the #1 album of 2010 and in addition to these praises, Janelle Monáe was included in the first-ever Women Who Rock exhibit in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.
“One of my core values is to help redefine what it means to be a strong and beautiful woman in the music and fashion worlds and to empower the wonderful things that make us unique,” said Monáe. Known for her signature, classic style, unique sound and ever glowing sense of strength, there is no surprise she’s joining the ranks of Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, and Team USA Athletes Jennifer Kessy and Marlen Esparza.
