Some weeks back I attended the Newell Brands holiday preview. There were different tables set up showcasing current and future launches, and the multiple ways they can be used outside of their normal functionalities. I made a yellow slime, haphazardly to be honest, that began to dry and leak soon after. Because I knew the final product was caused by my prep, and not the instructions provided, I decided to remake it again, at-home.
The instructions below are from Elmer’s Glue website, and when followed correctly should turn out perfectly.
ingredients
1¼ tbsp of contact lens solution
6 fl oz Elmer’s Glitter Glue
how-to
Pour out the entire contents of a 6 oz of Elmer’s Glitter Glue into a bowl. (I didn’t want to waste a drop so after draining most contents of the bottle, I cut the bottom off then snipped it down the middle; so the bottle is completely in half. Use your finger and scrape the bottle clean, and add to the bowl. Wash hands with soap and water, then dry)
Add ½ tbsp of baking soda and mix thoroughly.
Add 1¼ tbsp of contact lens solution.
Mix until mixture gets harder to mix and slime begins to form. (Mix it around the bowl to pull in the glue stuck to the sides. It should pull it right off.)
Take the slime out and begin kneading with both of your hands.
If needed, add ¼ tbsp of contact lens solution to make the slime less sticky. (Don’t add the ¼ tbsp all at once. Start with little drops as ¼ tbsp may be too much.)
