Yves Saint Laurent dressed Mick and Bianca Jagger for their St. Tropez wedding in May 1971. This tradition soon fizzled out until Christopher Owens, shot by Hedi Slimane, was chosen as the face of Saint Laurent’s relaunch in 2013. Since them Hedi has featured BECK, Courtney Love, Kim Gordon, Marilyn Manson, and many other iconic artists that created with such rare gravitas and respect not typically seen today.
As a continuation to their great homage, Joni Mitchell is the latest artist featured in the Saint Laurent Music Project. Photographed in her Bel Air home, Mitchell stays bohemian in her YSL Folk Tunic, leather cape made especially by Hedi for her, and the YSL Classic Fedora. So simple, yet so iconic – just like Joni.
