Diesel’s Nicola Formichetti further explores archives for fourth Tribute Collection.
Focusing on the inspiration of sport meets military, the collection maintains the Diesel authenticity in a more contemporary fashion. Basically, the overall look resembled that young misfit from high school that wore the trends before they were trends to later discard the look once mainstream. They send a message not to be different, or better yet, a rebel without a cause, but to bring awareness to ideals they believe in without losing sight of the world around them.
Filled with baggy pants and skirts, embellished with elastic bands and chunky zips, and nylon bombers saturated with grunge allows for color combos and bold prints to accent rather than overwhelm. Even the army green knits and capes with fur collars feature pink and electric blue geometric detailing for contrast.
The Diesel Tribute collection will be previewed exclusively at the LONDON show ROOMS in alliance with the British Fashion Council from March 4 – 11, 2015 in Paris, to celebrate the announcement of London becoming the “global hub” of Formichetti’s new creative vision for Diesel. (Hmm, I wonder how many others will follow suit?)
