Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy, 28, wed Prince Guillaume de Luxembourg, 30, in an ELIE SAAB Haute Couture gown Friday, October 20th. Specially designed by Mr. Saab himself, Countess Stephanie walked down the aisle at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Luxembourg in a lace ivory gown, embroidered with silver thread leaves, an ivory silk tulle veil also embroidered with silver thread leaves and enhanced with a 13-foot long train, was nothing less than show stopper.
Donning the traditional Lannoy family tiara, this Belgian Countess was escorted down the aisle by her eldest brother, Count Jehan de Lannoy. As she approached the alter, rather than traditionally greeting her future husband, the couple met her wheelchair bound father to formally offer his daughter’s hand in marriage. And like things couldn’t be any more heartfelt, a moment of silence, in honor of the bride’s mother, Countess Alix de Lannoy, who passed two months before the big day, officially commenced the ceremonies.
Attendees may not have included Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, but the guest list included royal notables and dignitaries from countries including, Morocco, Sweden, Lichtenstein, Denmark, the Netherlands, Romania, and Spain…. Just to name a few.
