Makeup Inspiration: Robert Greene for TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL
Libertine’s Fall/Winter 2016 derives inspiration from The Tarot Garden (or Il Giardino dei Tarocchi) by Niki de Saint Phalle in Tuscany, mysticism and Johnson Hartig’s experience trekking Mount Everest.
Look: “3 AM Girl” with a bold, graphic eye. The Libertine woman takes a risk with a dramatic cat eye and smoky highlighted lid. With a 60’s inspiration for the bottom lashes and a focus on the eyes, with a natural face and lips.
How-to –
Face: Start by prepping the skin with Too Cool For School Egg Mellow Cream.
Lightly highlight the cheekbones, cheeks, tear duct and t-zone with the Dinoplatz Pearl Bay Invasion Highlighter in Baby Pink Clam.
Eyes: Curl lashes and then apply Glam Rock* Urban Shadow in Devil Blue all over the eyelid.
Using a brush, blend the eyeshadow upward and slightly out to brow bone until it is completely blended with no visible edges. This adds a sheer wash of color and bit of smoky mystery to the upper lid.
Highlight the inner corner of the eyes with the highlighter from Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Triceratops Multi-Face Palette.
Using Too Cool For School Glam Rock* Extreme Color Eyes in Ecstasy Black, draw a strong graphic line starting at the tear duct while keeping the liner as close to the lash line a possible. Flick it upwards at a severe angle to create a dramatic cat eye.
Add thickness to the cat eye by tracing a heavy line back toward the tear duct with liner to diagonally cover half of the eyelid. Once the desired thickness and shape are reached, fill in completely with the liner.
Connect the liner to your bottom lash line, adding a little extra width to the line, and only go halfway across your bottom lash line.
Apply a generous amount of Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Twisty Tail Mascara to the top lash. Then follow with a coating of Too Cool For School Glam Rock* Volume Thriller Mascara, for a strong bold, but not clumpy lash line.
For the bottom lashes, use the Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Twisty Tail Mascara, and twist the wand until it is fully curved. Using this wand apply a coating of mascara to the bottom lashes only in the outer corners to open up the eyes.
Lips: Finish the look by muting down the natural lip color with the Too Cool For School Dinoplatz La Ola 4-in-1 Makeup Kit.
