No one does fashion like royalty. For centuries, we have looked to royals for the next big thing(s) of the season. So, it’s no wonder that Princess Hafizah of Brunei stole Milan’s Fashion Week thunder at her nuptials Thursday in Brunei. The wedding party looked stunning in jewel and gold toned ensembles, but no one overshadowed Princess Hafizah wearing a lilac, jewel adorned, silk number.
Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah, the daughter of the Sultan of Brunei, wed Pengiran Haji Muhammad Ruzaini in a ceremony that could be only described as “fit for a princess”. The couple exchanged vows in front of family, friends, royals and dignitaries in the Sultan’s 1,700-room palace. (That’s right… I said 1,700!)
More than a week of wedding festivities, the new couple ended their celebration Sunday after being officially presented to the royal court.
Hafizah, the fifth child of the Sultan and his wife Queen Saleha, works as an officer in the finance ministry, and Ruzaini a civil servant in the Prime Minister’s office.
