Is this your first collection?
Yes this is my debut collection.
How did you get into fashion?
I was interested in street wear growing up and wanted to learn how to construct the clothes that I bought. I went to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco to pursue that interest and as time passed I developed my design aesthetic to the minimalist level. I wanted to produce menswear that has longevity but it still exciting at the same time.
What’s the inspiration behind this specific collection?
Rockers and Mods united in the modern day both on and off the asphalt. The moto inspired apparel is sleek and clean with some edge. They evolved their wardrobe though unification.
Tell us about the materials, fabrications and details used.
Sleek and modern synthetics mixed with traditional natural fibers. Advancing the traditional fabrics with modern aesthetics. Materials are imported from Italian and Japanese mills.
If you compared your designs to any place in the world, where would it be?
NYC because of the mixture of modern and classic architecture.
What fashion rules do you think should never be broken?
Being over accessorized in menswear.
What are your feelings toward the Kimye cover? Take away the celebrity aspect, do you think that aesthetic was VOGUE-worthy?
I think Kim and Kanye are incredibly influential to the mass media. Whatever people’s thoughts, it was still shot, styled and retains the fashion direction inline with the Vogue aesthetic.
