Fancy is all about people sharing the things they love with others. – Joe Einhorn of Fancy
Actor Edward Norton has teamed up with Osklen creative director Oskar Metsavaht, and Joe Einhorn, creator of social shopping platform Fancy, to sell a special limited edition of the jacket worn by his ‘Birdman’ character, Mike Shiner, called “The Shiner.” Exclusively available via Fancy and Osklen stores in New York City and Miami, all jacket proceeds will go directly to benefit the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust – an environmental protection and sustainable development project that works to protect the ecosystems and biodiversity of East Africa through conservation directly helping the local Maasai communities.
“I love Fancy because I always find the most unique things on it. And I am thrilled that every dollar from the purchase of this special edition is being contributed by Osklen and Fancy to one of the greatest environmental protection and sustainable development projects on the planet. So if you get this jacket for yourself or someone you love, you can have the dual pleasure of knowing that A) there’s only a few of us that have it. B) every dollar you spent on it went to a project that is a showcase for how we’re going to meet the challenge of sustainability in the 21st Century,” say Norton
Though jackets had stopped being produced, a limited number of them will be created for this mission alone. “The Shiner” comes in black, army green (identical to that seen in ‘Birdman’), and each piece is specially embroidered with Norton’s signature. It’s currently on sale for $300 and is sized to fit both men and women. So you lovebirds/besties/siblings out there who really want a piece of cinematic history, can go halfsies and share it if the price is out of your budget. Everyone else, by two – one to wear, and one to collect… DUH!
