HP CREATES WORLD’S THINNEST NOTEBOOK AND I WANT IT!

So you’ve heard about the world’s thinnest laptop created by HP.  The HP Spectre has a diagonal of 13.3 in, a thickness of 10.4 mm, and weighing 2.45 lbs (that’s a bit less than 3 cans of soup). Currently I carry a Macbook Air (as my Windows laptop is roughly 5lbs) along with extra things I need in my every day, and the little extra weight makes a huge difference. But we’re not here to compare apples to oranges. We’re here to discuss how the thinnest laptop in the world should also be granted the title of most beautiful.

Bringing in designers Tord Boontje and Jess Hannah, HP unveiled two limited edition notebooks that encompass the individuality and sleek sensibility of HP Spectre with diamonds and 18K gold. Don’t let your mind wanted to garish, ostentatious gaudiness, but imagine technology you’d be proud to bring out in the writer’s room. Boontje created an ornate pattern of cherry blossoms, florals, intertwined with the graceful peacock and gentle butterfly embedded with Swarovski crystals and accents of 18K gold set on a midnight blue. WhileHannah opted for a design of high-polish 18K gold finish, an HP logo encrusted in diamonds with the keyboard written in cursive for an additional luxurious touch.

“We have brought in the designers to create an extraordinary experience on our thinnest laptop ever, reinventing how luxury design and powerful laptop technology can come together to create spectacular works of art,” said Stacy Wolff, vice president, design, personal systems, HP Inc.

As such a limited quantity has been produced, a certain number of laptops from each designer will be auctioned at the Cannes Film Festival to benefit the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
