Monday, we spoke with Maud Laceppe for MAC, the lead makeup artist backstage atHoughton Spring/Summer 2016 where she told* us about the about the beauty look for the show. Honestly, I found it demure and sensual, and stunningly different than what had been seen thus far. Basically, the look was sooo HOUGHT. Get it? Like Houghton. A play on words… whatever… just read it!
Inspiration: “The inspiration is very 70’s. That cool, dynamic, girl who’s having fun, and did her makeup herself.”
The Look: “I am focused on the lashes, a lot of mascara on top and bottom. It gives a little… It’s sexy and cool and fun, very natural as always. The Houghton girl is always timeless and always effortless. She can be sophisticated but with a coolness.”
Skin: “…sun kissed. The skin is totally raw. I don’t want to fill any foundation. It’s very light, very healthy.”
Cheeks: Use bronzing powder all over the skin, concentrating on the cheeks to replicate the model’s glow. Remember to deposit as evenly as possibly in the concentrated areas.
Lips: Use the Velvetease Lip Pencil in Promise Me.
