No surprise Falguni and Shane Peacock stayed with their theme of futuristic style, but it’s how they implement it that makes it so unique. This year, it was the sharp edged, thin metal bodices that brought us back to the future as well as their collaboration with Jessie’s Girl Cosmetics for nails and Kryolan for makeup.
NAILS:
Falguni again called upon Jessie’s Girl Cosmetics to create something custom made and unique to represent their collection for fashion week. This time, they went with the JulieG collection, created by Julie Gutierrez who says of the Liquid Metal used as the stripe upon the Black Sheep polish, “It’s a beautiful rose gold that looks just like liquid metal. I’m obsessed with rose gold. I wear this watch [in rose gold] because it makes me look healthy.” Lisa Logan, Jessie’s Girl Cosmetics key celebrity manicurist added, “we went with the square shape rather than the almond shape just to give it a little edge.”
MAKEUP:
Performed by key makeup artist, Kelly Thompson, who actually was doing Falguni’s makeup when I walked in, and her team, created a “very stylistic smokey eye, with an overlay of gloss so it looked like patent leather.” Dark, dark eyes, false lashes in TV4 with all the makeup coming from the Kryolan HD collection. Which actually can be easily manipulated or converted to be suitable for various times of the day or various events. “Kryolan started out special effect, but have a very substantial beauty line now. So you can get everything there,” said Thompson.
