October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. As one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of death among women, many forget to take the steps to detect the disease in the early stages. So much has been done, but together, as a community, we have a ways to go.
