From mermaid madness in their SS15 collection to Manhattan Guides for Mandarin Oriental, New York, Rodarte designer Kate and Laura Mulleavy have their hands full with out of this world collaborations and creations. The Rodarte New York City Guide, as it’s so simply put, will allow you to see Manhattan through the eyes of the design duo. Which may seem like nothing, but understand the way we view beauty, style, and life in general, is solely based off our perspective.
The guide is available starting October as a guest amenity exclusively in rooms and suites of the Five-Star, Five-Diamond hotel. Rodarte New York City Guide is a visualization of the discoveries and insights that have sculpted Kate and Laura’s city experiences. “With our Rodarte New York City Guide, the goal was to capture that feeling of discovery when you come to the city for the guests at our favorite hotel, Mandarin Oriental, New York. This is a very personal project for us, these are some of the most special places we’ve experienced during our trips to New York.” says Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte of the collaboration.
On the guide take note of the signature pattern based on the hand-dyed tulle used in Rodarte’s fall 2008 collection. A bold, rectilinear interpretation of Manhattan executed in monochrome tones and gold sits in stark contrast to this ephemeral backdrop. Guide hotspots include, Bergdorf Goodman, Dashwood Books and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Don’t fret! Though the guide is exclusively available for guests of Mandarin Oriental, New York, you can still win one of ten signed Rodarte New York City Guides between September 25 and October 25. One grand prize winner will win a two night stay in the Central Park View Room. No purchase is necessary and full contest details and terms are available on the hotel’sFacebook page.
