Man Ray-ograph Resort: Lela Rose’s eye for creating feminine, fun collections while changing things up each season. Her Resort 2013 Collection was inspired by the artist, Man Ray. His development of the photogram or “rayographs” comes through in her intricate details of every piece.
Trend: Rose’s peplum tops, sheer overlays, cap sleeves and waist accentuated sheath dresses. This collection embodies the femininity of women, without overplaying their innate sexiness. Each piece is so well designed that its looks seamlessly interchange from day cutout sweater shirts to evening pencil skirts to business meeting sheaths to weekend brunch slacks.
Key Pieces: Polka dot collared shirts; short sleeved, black trimmed, peplum blouse; color blocked, graphic patterned pieces took center stage in this collection.
Key Colors: Mint, blood orange, lapis, emerald and ocean blue.
Accessories: Back zip, peep toe heels and T-strap sandals simply accessorized the line.
Sass: This is by far my favorite Lela Rose collection. Her artisanal way of creating wearable works of art is unbelievable. It’s stylish sensibility, intricate detailing and patterns will soon transcend itself from the Dada movement to hangings pieces of work in every woman’s closet.
