It’s been quite rainy the last few weeks and there’s nothing like rain to destroy your summer kicks. You know those all white Keds that stay pristine and crisp until the last day of summer – resulting in being deep cleaned and put away until next year. But for those few days we’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy a nice sun and cool riverside breeze, it seems those all whites just are doing the trick this time around. So for this Sneaker Freak Friday, we give you Keds x kate spade new york.
Imagine the classic style Ked walks into a bubble gum pink Willy Wonka factory (kate spadestores are the factories, if you didn’t catch on). As the optical illusion floors guide you to the oompa loompa green satchel you saw through the window display, the Veruca Salt blue polka dots grab your attention from the other side of the shop. That’s what this collaboration reminds me of. Brightly colored prints that can be worn with a racer back maxi for long days on the beach and worn later in the evening with jeans and hoodie, for those cooler nights. And what a perfect mélange of brand personalities that are very different, but esthetically very much the same, that when paired properly could work for most ensembles and occasions. It’s like that one accessory you can’t live without!
This isn’t kate’s first courtship with Keds, and from what they’ve been creating together over the last couple of years, I sure hope it’s not the last.
The collection is currently available on Keds.com and in kate spade stores nationwide for $75.
