Award season has begun and rather than being upset my favorite actor didn’t win, I’ve enjoyed seeing the fruition and generational comeback of great movies, great casting and most of all, camaraderie. From photobombing colleagues, Instagraming the hell out of every cool thing the actors are doing and supporting competition, it’s no longer about making it rain. It’s about doing what you love with people you admire and respect.
Last week when I watched the Golden Globes, many things went through my head – how are Jared Leto and his man bun so sexy? Who let Amy Adams wear that ensemble? And Ms. Nyong’o, is she the new it girl? And since today’s post is about none other than Lupita Nyong’o, let’s answer that query. Yes. Yes, she is.
She’s beautiful. She’d educated. And she’s been slaying these broads in the fashion scene for months now. First major role out of college and she’s won over 20 awards for her role in 12 Years a Slave and an Oscar nom. She’s been featured in MiuMiu’s spring/summer 2014 campaign alongside Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, and Bella Heathcote, on the cover of Dazed magazine and has designers pounding down her door to dress her. With all this positive attention, how could you not fall in love with the beauty that is, Lupita Nyong’o.
